4 Quick Pics From Day 2 Of Cheer Camp.

Jade is currently of the last day of a three day cheerleading bootcamp. In a few minutes I go get her and they are going to do a little 10 minute presentation of what they have learnt, I will have Amber with me so not sure how much I will be able to take pics ... we will see. Anyway here are 4 pics of Jade that was on the cheer website, no wonder she is sore in places she has never been sore before (hehehe).

I had it in my head that she was going to do a year of baseball cheerleading before going competitive but they said to me there was no need for her to waste a year, she was ready for competitive now ... oh golly need to run this by daddy a bit coz this is where we get into big time sports and big time money, especially those outfits, golly !!! I do think the competitive cheerleading would be a better fit for us because she will get more tumble training there inbetween seasons, we will see. Let's first see how it goes today.

While Jade has always loved the camera, Amber not so much so you really have to trick her into allowing you to take her picture and then with every picture you take, she says 'see see' and then you have to show her, quite the mission she is.

These were taken yesterday, Monday the 28th, we were passing the time before going to get Jade from her cheerleading camp. I took a lot and they are all pretty natural pics of her so I thought I would add a few here.

Ok this past weekend we had a neighbors kids for the weekend, Vincent which is 7 and Gabriel which is about to turn 5, their mom and dad went on a birthday weekend away so like Tina and I swap out weekends in a year to have a romantic get away, Colleen and I are going to do the same, it's kinda cool if we could get it working well :-) Anyway so NEVER had Dave surprised us with a trip somewhere, I mean an outing not a vacation but Saturday night he was adamant that he was going to take us somewhere and he was going to keep it a secret from not just the kids but me too ...

Now those that know me I would love to be surprised by my hubby but I too am a total control freak and surprises with a two year old in tow, mmmm I wasn't so sure about all this. Anyways I asked as many questions as I could to try and be prepared with Amber and all but what we were not banking on is Amber only taking a 45 minute nap that day, since we got rid of the paci's naptime is starting to shorten and on days she has not taken a nap at all so 45 mins we were lucky to get that day.

So at 5h30 we started on our journey ... an over an hour journey which already had me worried, the three bigger kids all napped in the car, but Amber ... no way was she gonna miss anything. We stopped at McDonald's for a quick bite and then soon afterwards we arrived at our destination a DRIVE IN !!!

This was the playground in front of one of the two screens, they show 2 kids movies and 2 adults movies a night :-)

Now from my childhood I have very good memories of drive ins but did I want to do this with a 2 year old, nope !!! But shame I didn't want to ruin it for Dave so we all tried best we could to have fun, the three older kids were not too impressed, what is it with kids these days right ? Thank God for cellphones and my cars GPS system and the games on there or we would have been in trouble, since the movie did not start till 9h40 and yeah this momma was starting to worry just a little bit at this point.

The three older kids sat in comfort for the show, Dave and I brought chairs but I sat with Amber on a blanket for as much of the time we could keep her there ... rest of the time Dave was chasing her around (hehehe) golly I hope the guy learnt his lesson, shame I love him more for trying !!!



Anyway it wasn't too bad only I don't care for kids movies but the kids enjoyed the new Cars 2 movie, Gabriel fell asleep towards the end but Dave had to keep Amber busy (hehehe) at that point I am sure he was thinking 'What was I thinking' ? Anyway the movie ended at 11h30 yup and we still had over and hours drive home, it was a long day.

Anyway the 3 bigger kids all slept most of the trip home but Amber, my 2 year old was not going to miss a thing, we got her in bed at 12h45, can you believe that ? I think she is going to be our night owl for sure and I thought Jade was our night owl !!!

Thank God everyone slept till 9am Sunday, Amber woke first (again can you believe that) ? And I let her go wake the rest and none of them were too happy for the first while. Thankfully Amber took a very long nap that afternoon so that was good, while I took the 3 kids to a pool party, Dave waited for Amber to wake and then joined us for a short while at the pool.

We really had a fun filled weekend but golly by Monday I needed a weekend !!! Our turn next ... I need to start planning. Can't believe June is almost over, so Dave and I will take a trip somewhere mid July (think after this I should get Dave to plan the weekend - hehehe) and then August for two weeks we are in Florida and when we arrive back my girlfriend Leanda will come down for a week with her family from Torronto in Canada, Jade and I will spend a weekend with them in Myrtle Beach, I am excited about that, it will be a good treat for Jade and I to have some quality time alone. Leanda has two kids close in age to Jade so I am sure we will all have a blast.

Lot's of travel to look forward to, can't wait :-)

Bus Soaker - Last Day Of School.

Just some pictures from the Bus Soaker which happens every year on the last day of school, as the kids get off the bus the parents are armed with water guns, buckets, hoses or whatever and soak the kids quickly as they get off the bus, only for them to take over and totally soak all the parents :-) Fun afternoon as usual.

I cannot say enough how much I love this neighborhood. Even Amber was getting into things now and the kids are so careful of the little ones that they don't bump them over, it's too cute how they all take care of each other.

Another year down and we are off to 3rd grade :-) so proud of Jade, they don't serious grading yet, next year is the big year but she did well and the teacher made mention she got 98 % in Math, she must have her dads brain and thank God for that right.

Vegas Day Four - Friday, My Last Full Day There :-(

Ok well we didn't have much time at all on this last day, thought we would but by the time we got checked out, all we had time for was a quick trip to Madame Tussuad's which was right outside the Venetian so nice a close.

Didn't realize just how many pics I took but here are a few for you :-)

So it was then onto the airport for our long trip home and our at least week of jetlag :-( but hey it was all worth it. Thank you once again to Deon and Estelle for taking such good care of the girls while we were away and to Colleen and Tina for helping out on the last day, it means the world to us that we can go out of town like this and know our girls are in good hands. Shame I think it was a very confusing time for Amber but after a night big cuddle on Sunday morning things got back to normal.

Sunday we spent the evening with neighbors at a Memorial Weekend party, we have the best neighbors and live in the best neighborhood, we love it here so much. And further than that for right now, I can hardly remember.
